CATL plans to produce all-solid-state batteries in small batches in 2027
Wu Kai, chief scientist of CATL, said at the CIBF2024 Advanced Battery Frontier Technology Seminar that if technology and manufacturing maturity are used as an evaluation system (on a scale of 1-9), CATL’s all-solid-state battery research and development is currently at a level of 4. Wu Kai said that CATL’s goal is to reach the 7-8 level by 2027, which means that all-solid-state batteries can be produced in small batches and the opportunities are great, but mass production will still face problems such as cost.
