Japanese company develops 4-micron ultra-thin copper foil that is expected to improve lithium battery life
Japan's TEIKOKU ION Company, which is engaged in electroplating processing, has developed extremely thin copper foil with a thickness of 4 microns (μm). By plating copper on both sides of the resin film, the strength is increased and the thickness is reduced to half of the original. It is envisioned to be used as an electrode material for lithium batteries to extend the cruising range of pure electric vehicles (EVs).
