Gu Jianming, former chairman and secretary general of Chengdu Football Association, sentenced to six years in prison
This morning, the People's Court of Tongcheng County, Hubei Province, publicly pronounced the first-instance verdict on the case of embezzlement, bribery, and corporate bribery of Gu Jianming, former chairman and secretary-general of the Chengdu Football Association and former member of the Executive Committee of the Chinese Football Association. The defendant Gu Jianming was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for the crime of embezzlement and a fine of RMB 200,000, two years and six months in prison for the crime of bribery and a fine of RMB 100,000, and two years and six months in prison for the crime of corporate bribery and a fine of RMB 100,000. The court decided to execute a six-year prison sentence and a fine of RMB 400,000. The proceeds of his embezzlement were recovered according to law and returned to the victim units respectively, and the property he received from bribes was recovered according to law and turned over to the state treasury.
